Role Overview
We are now seeking an experienced and proactive Service/Workshop Manager to lead our workshop operations and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction. As the Service/Workshop Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy workshop, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and the delivery of top-notch services. You will lead a team of skilled mechanics, MOT Testers, technicians, manage customer relationships, and ensure all vehicles are serviced to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, motivate, and support a team of Mechanics, MOT testers and technicians to meet performance goals and deliver excellent service.
- Oversee scheduling, workload allocation, and workshop activities to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Conduct quality checks on completed jobs to ensure they meet company and industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor and manage stock levels of parts and tools to avoid delays and ensure seamless operations.
- Track workshop performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes.
- Control operational costs and contribute to financial planning to maintain profitability.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers and partners to enhance service efficiency.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Service Manager, Workshop Manager, or similar role in the automotive industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle repair and maintenance processes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with workshop management software and tools.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a workshop setting.
- A proactive and results-driven attitude.
- Full UK driving license.
